Tayiba Date Paste, with its soft texture and naturally sweet taste, is designed to integrate seamlessly into your culinary creations.
It can serve as a natural alternative to refined sugars or be the star ingredient in a recipe.
It is commonly used in Middle Eastern pastries such as makrout or as a filling for cookies. But for a change, here are two original recipe ideas to use your date paste creatively.

Ultra-Soft Date and Cinnamon Cake Recipe

Thanks to the tender texture of Tayiba Date Paste, you’ll get a light and fluffy cake. Quick and easy to prepare, it’s perfect to enjoy with tea or coffee during an afternoon snack. The cinnamon in the recipe can be replaced with orange blossom water or candied orange peel for a different flavor twist.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Tayiba Date Paste
  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g milk
  • 100 g sunflower oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 70 g Tayiba Date Molasses
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

  1. In a blender, mix the date paste with the milk.
  2. Add the eggs, sugar, oil, and cinnamon, and blend again until well combined.
  3. Add the sifted flour with the baking powder, and blend again.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 24 cm (9.5 in) diameter cake pan and bake at 180°C (356°F) for 35 minutes (adjust depending on your oven).
  5. Let the cake cool before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.

Date Paste Energy Balls Recipe

Energy balls are small, healthy, and nutritious bites. They are ideal as a snack for a quick and lasting energy boost. Made mainly from dried fruits, nuts, and seeds, they are perfect for athletes, active people, or anyone looking for a healthy alternative to traditional snacks.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Tayiba Date Paste
  • 100 g almonds
  • 50 g rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • For coating: cocoa powder, desiccated coconut, or sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. In a blender, pulse the almonds until they have a coarse texture. Add the rolled oats and pulse briefly again.
  2. Add the date paste, peanut butter, and cocoa powder. Blend until the mixture is smooth and forms a malleable dough. If the mixture is too dry, add a little water; if too wet, add more oats.
  3. Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into bite-sized balls with your hands.
  4. Roll the balls in your choice of coating (cocoa powder, desiccated coconut, or sesame seeds).
  5. Place the energy balls on a plate and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.

Storage
You can store the energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. They can also be frozen; allow them to thaw at room temperature before consuming.
