Date Paste Energy Balls Recipe
Ingredients
- 200 g Tayiba date paste
- 100 g almonds
- 50 g rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- For coating: cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or sesame seeds
Preparation
In a blender, blend the almonds until you obtain a coarse texture. Add the rolled oats and blend briefly again.
Add the date paste, peanut butter, and cocoa powder. Blend until the mixture is smooth and forms a workable dough. If the mixture seems too dry, add a little water; if it is too moist, add more rolled oats.
Take a small amount of dough and shape it into bite-sized balls using your hands.
Roll the balls in the coating of your choice (cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or sesame seeds).
Place the energy balls on a plate and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
To store the energy balls, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. They can also be frozen; simply allow them to thaw at room temperature before consuming.
