Dattes Ajwa
Ajwa dates are a specialty of the Medina region in Saudi Arabia.
Their production exists
nowhere else! They are among the most renowned date varieties in the world.
They are very famous in Eastern medicine, where they have the reputation of acting as an antidote
against diseases when enjoyed every morning. They are indeed packed with nutrients and
antioxidants that fight many pathologies and daily ailments.
Their flesh has a thick, fruity, and naturally sweet texture, reminiscent of caramel flavors
with a slight licorice aftertaste. Ajwa dates have a predominantly black or even very dark
burgundy color.

How to choose
The Ajwa date displays a color ranging from black to reddish, sometimes striped at the ends. Its flesh is thick and fibrous around the pit.
Tasting Idea
Ajwa dates are your breakfast allies. In winter, they pair very well with citrus fruits. In summer, do not hesitate to enjoy them with mangoes or watermelon.
Conservation
Fresh Ajwa dates (routab) can be kept in positive cold for several weeks. Firm Ajwa dates (tamr) can be kept for several months in a dry place, away from air, in an airtight container if possible.
